0After the filing deadline closed, Denton County's elections administrator Frank Phillips sent me an email with the full slate of candidates for Providence's first election.
Six people are running for mayor, including Tim Barnwell, Rich Garon, Bentley Parker, Brian Roberson, Dorothy Walker, and Peter Wright.
Eleven people are running for five spots on the town council, including Eddie Army, Kathi Brown, Bruce W. Dudley, Tawny N. Laney, Ernie Law, Mark McCullough, Crystal Miller, Clint Shipp, Nate Tandberg, Mike Thompson, and Ken Winzen Sr.
I plan to write a story about the race sometime next week. The election will be Saturday, June 19.

Try clearing your cache: In Firefox, go to Tools / Clear Recent History. Check the "Cache" box and uncheck all other boxes. Click "Clear now." In Internet Explorer, go to Tools / Internet Options.
