« Weekend Weather in Denton will Continue As Advertised... | Main | Critical Fire Danger Has Increased and Denton County is Now Included in a Red Flag Warning Until 6pm... »

Very warm and windy today with strong storms overnight...

Record breaking warmth today. We will see the low 80s this afternoon and windy conditions, and the spring-time weather doesn't stop there. We will see a chance of thunderstorms after midnight through mid-morning Tuesday. Weather forecast computers continue to indicate the potential for some severe storms with this event. The main threats will come from high winds, hail and there is a potential for tornadoes. As more data comes in today I will fine tune my forecast.

The culprit behind this bout of severe weather will be a cold front that should sweep through the Denton area by tomorrow afternoon. We will see freezing temperatures Tuesday night and then start another slow warm up through the week.

Make sure that you have your N.O.A.A. Weather Radios on tonight and tomorrow so that you can be warned in case severe weather threatens your area during sleeping hours. Don't be caught off-guard.

I will definitely have more on this situation as it develops.
