« The Elevated Grass Fire Danger Continues Today... | Main | A very warm and windy Sunday.... »

Nice weekend weather on tap for Denton...

Strong and gusty south winds will be increasing the humidity levels and the temperatures for the next several days. Even though the winds will be quite gusty the fire danger will not be as high as the humidity will continue to increase. However, be careful as burn bans continue in effect for 146 counties in Texas including Denton County. The Texas burn ban map can be found HERE.

This weekend may feel a bit more like early spring. Today will be the coolest day until next Tuesday. We will see highs well above normal with afternoon temperatures making it into the mid 70s Saturday through Monday.

A cold front will enter the region Monday night and may bring a line of thunderstorms with it as it sweeps through the area. There is a very slight chance of severe thunderstorms as the dynamics of this weather system are very strong. This is the same system that is affecting the west coast now. As it finally moves past our area we will see temperatures dropping back to normal ranges after mid-week.

The Denton area will continue to see unsettled weather for at least the next 14 days. By unsettled I mean that the temperature rollercoaster continues and there may be a couple of chances of wintry weather. However that is long rang forecasting and will be fine tuned as we progress along and analyze data.

Enjoy your weekend as it will be favorable for outdoor activities.
