Chilly weather to continue through the week...

Well it’s been 10 days since my last post. My family suffered a great loss during that time as our Mother passed on Sunday the 13th. She always encouraged me to keep up with the weather and loved it when her friends would ask her about me and if I was still watching the weather. Well I am still watching the weather and now have even more help from above. Mother you will be missed big time but never forgotten.

A cold front has moved through the region this morning dropping the temperatures in its wake. There has been some locally dense fog and some drizzle in areas, but that is on the wane as I write. Temperature will stay in the 30s today with cloudy skies. Tonight’s low temperature forecast is a tricky one. I’ve seen forecasted lows range from 21-31 degrees overnight. It really all depends on the cloud cover. If skies do clear by tonight we will easily drop into the low 20s, but if the clouds hang in we won’t see it get near as cold. After looking at weather satellite animations this morning it looks to me that the clouds may hang in there a bit longer than originally thought, so I am forecasting a low tonight in the upper 20s to near 30 for the Denton area.

Tomorrow looks to be a chilly day with partly cloudy skies, light winds and high temperatures in the upper 40s. Another reinforcing shot of cold air will arrive on Wednesday and another hard freeze will be likely with this air mass. Look for a slow warm up into the weekend and a slight chance of rain. That forecast will be fine tuned as the week progresses.

Stay warm and enjoy your Tuesday.
