A Winter Storm Warning will go into Effect at 9pm for Denton and surrounding areas...

UPDATE:

I am going to stick with my current forecast of a 40% chance of freezing rain but I am upping the accumulation to .25” from my previous forecast of less than 1/4"

Our airmass is very dry right now but will have time to moisten up rapidly overnight as abundant moisture rides over the current cold air at the ground level. As moisture falls through this dry airmass it will serve to cool it off and make it much more moist at the surface. Northwestern sections of the county will probably see more accumulation than the southeastern sections. That puts downtown right on the fine line over night and into tomorrow.

Stay safe and warm, and keep up to date on conditions around you.
