« Pleasant weekend weather for Denton and a glimpse of New Year's Eve... | Main | Happy New Year! Get ready for another bout of "rollercoaster weather" for the area... »

Be very careful with your fireworks this year!

Forecast is still pretty much on track. Today will be a very pleasant day for Denton with highs near 60 degrees. It could get a little breezy this afternoon. A cold front is still set to move through the area on Monday and start cooling us back down. Lows Tuesday night look to be in the low 20s.

As winds pick up today and especially tomorrow with the cold front in the area the National Weather Service has warned of the potential grass fire danger that will encompass the western parts of the area today and all of North Texas tomorrow-New Year’s Eve. Humidity is on the low side and with gusty winds please be careful with any fireworks for your New Year’s celebrations. There are 115 counties in Texas under OUTDOOR BURN BANS. Denton county is not included but Wise and Hunt are the closest counties to us under the burn ban.
