Stormy weather has moved on...
This has been a very active morning weather-wise! Some storms produced 40-50mph gusts of wind and some torrential rain. Most of the flooding rains have been to our south and east. I've not received any storm damage reports for Denton County thus far.
The thunderstorms were triggered by a cold front that has stalled across the area. This morning's activity should serve to reduce the chance of any more severe storms today. In areas that receive decent daytime heating there is a slight possibility of additional activity later this afternoon.
Another frontal system will affect us by mid to late week with the potential to produce severe weather. I will write more about that and post some rainfall totals from around the area later.
Temperatures at noon were in the mid 60s. In areas where the sun can peek out temps will make it into the mid to upper 70s this afternoon. Otherwise expect highs to generally be in the low 70s today and back into the 80s tomorrow.
Stay dry and enjoy your Monday.
