Pleasant dry weekend on tap for the area...

Now this morning finally felt like October! Temperatures around the area dropped into the upper 40s in most places. We have very dry air in place and it warms and cools very effectively. I expect highs to be in the mid 80s today and through the weekend with lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Sunday will probably be the warmest day in the 7 day forecast as the winds will pick up out of the south and begin to transport moisture back into the area late Saturday.

The next front is forecast to move into the area Sunday night and Monday. There should be some showers and a few thunderstorms behind the front, but no severe weather is expected at this time. Next week should be much cooler with highs in the 60s, but the weather may be a bit unsettled. We can talk about that later.

Friday night football weather around the area will finally feel like it's football time. Be sure and take a jacket with you out to the game tonight. Temperatures should be around 70 degrees at kick off but will quickly cool to near 60 by the end of area games.

Remember if you can't make it out for football tonight be sure and check out the DRC High School Sports Blog. It can be found HERE. Jeff, Adam, Monty and Todd will keep you up to date on what's happening in near real-time.

Everybody enjoy your weekend.
