Isolated to scattered severe storms are still possible...

Showers continue streaming northward through the area on gusty south winds. A powerful upper level storm system is now moving through west Texas and will begin a more northeasterly movement shortly. As this system pulls through the area the main energy associated with it will move just to our north. However its associated dryline will move through by early afternoon. At this time we have a warm layer of air above the surface (referred to as the cap) that will serve to keep any widespread severe weather from breaking out the further south you go. With that being said, I still can't rule out scattered severe storms affecting us over the next 6 hours especially in areas where the sun can break through the clouds and destabilize the atmosphere prior to the passage of the dryline. Best bet is to be alert to rapidly changing weather conditions and stay tuned to local radio, television or NOAA weather radio for possible watches and warnings.

Once the dryline clears our area today, we will see warm days and cool nights for the remainder of the week. High temperatures will generally be in the lower to mid 80s and lows will be in the lower to mid 50s. We could actually drop into the upper 40s Thursday night into Friday morning.

Moisture will begin to return on Saturday in advance of the next weather system that will be moving into our area on Monday. There will be a chance of storms on Monday and then much cooler temperatures will invade the area once again making it feel more like Fall.

Have a great Wednesday everybody.
