Fall is definitely in the air...

The front finally made it through the area yesterday. It brought some scattered thunderstorms some of which contained some 30-40 mph wind gusts. As of this morning I've not received any reports of storm damage.

Here are yesterday's stats from around town:
KDTO (Denton Municipal Airport): Hi 94, Low 72, .06" of rain
Denton 2se (NWS Cooperative Obs-Located near downtown): Hi 91, Low 65, .99" of rain
TML* (My station 4 miles south of downtown): Hi 98, Low 71, .24" of rain
*not an official NWS reporting station.

The rest of the week is looking a bit more like Fall. As drier air continues to filter into the region we will see nighttime lows drop into the mid 50s and daytime highs will reach the mid 80s. Another frontal system will move into the area by late week and reinforce the drier and cooler air for us.

The next several evenings and early mornings will really feel nice. Enjoy them as they are well deserved after this long stretch of heat and humidity.
