A cool front is in the area today... Yay!

Another day of humid weather is on tap for Denton. However there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms later today. A cold front is just to our west-northwest this morning and moving slowly towards us. Temperatures in the Panhandle are in the mid 50s as we are already nearing the 80 degree mark.

This is a weakening front, but it will help spark the showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and help clear some of the humidity out of the air. As the air dries we will start seeing the evening and early morning temperatures drop in to the 50s as soon as Tuesday night.

Our afternoon highs will still be running almost 10 degrees above normal during the week, but another front may be moving into the area by late week. Each front that makes it through the area now will serve to finally send summer on its way slowly but surely.

Have a great day and watch out for stray showers and thunderstorms later...
