Yuck! The humidity is back...

Hot and humid conditions will be the main weather story for our area over the next couple of days. There is a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms, but most people will remain dry today. We will see high temperatures in the low 90s with the humidity making it feel more like the mid to upper 90s. Drier air is forecast to move into the area by late week giving us a bit of relief.

I expect that we will be seeing tropical development in the gulf in the next 48 hours. A disturbance will be moving westward off of the Florida coast this afternoon into some very warm water and it’s certainly not out of the question that we will be dealing with a tropical storm named Jerry by Friday morning. At this time the atmosphere is set up to drive this system toward the upper Texas coast over the weekend. This is something to keep an eye on and I certainly will.

Four days until we end summer. WooHoo! Everybody have a great day!
