Early afternoon weather update...

200 PM CDT TUE SEP 25 2007
AT 2 PM...A LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM GAINESVILLE TO ALVORD TO JACKSBORO. THIS LINE WILL MOVE TO THE EAST AT 15 TO 20 MPH THROUGH 3 PM...AND WILL AFFECT AREAS FROM SHERMAN TO DENTON. CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING AND RAINFALL ACCUMULATIONS UP TO ONE INCH PER HOUR WILL BE POSSIBLE.

Radar is showing a pretty healthy storm in northwestern Denton county. Since we are getting close to peak heating (the hottest time of the day) and with the front still to our northwest, these showers and storms will probably increase a bit in coverage and strength through sunset. Also, with the front being in the area I can't rule out some scattered storms overnight. Keep the umbrellas handy if you are going to be out late this afternoon and tonight.
