ORANGE today - possibility of localized rain
Comment received from: "Robert"
Level Orange Ozone Alert Today. The air remains stagnant over the area today and this will lead to the efficient production of ground level ozone. The last couple of days have seen poor air quality in our area. In fact the Denton reporting station has reached level orange once this week. However, a slight respite is in store.
Here is a quick chart to explain the air quality codes:

Mid morning temperatures are running about 10 degrees cooler in the Panhandle than they are in North Texas. This means that the front has now edged into the state. With the upper level air flow beginning to change this front has a chance to make it much further into the state than previous ones. The front is forecast to be in our area tomorrow (Thursday) and will bring a better chance of more widespread showers and storms.
Today the deeper rich gulf moisture is beginning to move northward. This is making the atmosphere unstable, so afternoon and early evening thunderstorms are a decent bet today. Not everyone will get wet, but those who do will get a pretty good soaking. Heat indexes will be near 100 degrees this afternoon, so if you are out and about be sure and drink plenty of water.
