« ORANGE today - possibility of localized rain | Main | Nice weather for Labor Day weekend! »

Front has arrived...

The front is here folks. It is slowly sliding through the area as I write this. Moisture content remains high and the atmosphere is still a bit unstable, so expect more scattered showers and thunderstorms once again today. The front is forecast to make it all the way through the area and begin to wash out (become diffuse) south of us. However, while it is hanging around we will continue with the unsettled weather pattern through this evening.

The Labor Day weekend is looking pretty good. Rain chances will be slim and the humidity will be lower thanks to the frontal passage. With a drier atmosphere we will see some very pleasant overnight temperatures. Lows are expected to be near 70 degrees with highs around 90 to the lower 90s through the weekend. In fact the forecasted low for Sunday night is 67.

There are a couple of areas of interest in the tropics, but not much to discuss at this time. Enjoy the weather for now as summer is not quite done with us yet.

Side Note:
For those of you interested, the National Weather Service has posted some pictures (courtesy of Cooke County Emergency Management) of the flooding that occurred in Gainesville back on June 18th. There are some pretty impressive images. You can find them here:
